Golden to join Kawasaki Monster Energy Team
It would appear that Vicki Golden had a banner of a year in 2011 and that the motocross racer who specializes in ultra swift riding will be quite confident in going to the new year as she came in first place at the Women’s Moto X at the seventeenth annual X Games in July that were held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. The AMA Arenacross main has never had a female qualifier and this means that Golden is the first woman to ever attain that honor. She ended up finishing tenth in another competition in the main frame in Des Moines, Iowa which is apparently another first for females in motocross.
She will soon be riding her team’s Kawasaki parts in the first race of 2012 where she will attend a race in Michigan which will also be the debut of the new Monster Energy Kawasaki team which has been the team to beat this year because they ended up winning both championships in the past two seasons. Although Golden broke her collarbone earlier in the fall and that made it difficult for her to get anything done, she said that she feels quite confident that she will be able to perform well on the team.
She said that she had started talking with the leader of the team in 2011 about her potential participation and that even though the potential for her involvement was rather late notice that it still all came together as it should have and that everyone has been excited about what the new year will bring.
